This song was part of a large group of songs that was written during “Private Energy”, It’s a mantra that revolves around the first lyric “Píntame” which means “Paint me”. The constant feeling of revalidation of what you are working on for yourself and how it bounces back and forth with other folks on this planet or on your block. Im happy being mostly lost when Im trying to figure out ways to talk about this feeling but guided in the most confident way with music to feel it move under me with me...or something like that. Guardar means to tend… so the songs mean Tend our are. It also means, hang on, keep and guard." – Helado Negro

Like so many others, this came like a bolt out of the blue and, even though it's well before payday, I had to have this astonishing album on vinyl to prove it exists. The feel of the tunes makes me feel like the Impressions do, Curtis Mayfield, the big spaces and instinctive horns and stuff drifting in and out. Great grooves and I can see lots of ghosts nodding along to this with big smiles on their faces. At last!
